There’s more in the optimistic column this week than there has been in a while. The most exciting trend is that wages have started catching up to the cost of living. Wages rose much faster than usual in May and June, while the cost of living declined over the same period. There’s still a lot of ground to make up, but it’s the most important trend for the health of the economy and everyone’s general well-being.
