Serving the highlights from the daily scoops on the app

๐ŸŒŽ The Big Picture

It was a pretty light week, relatively uneventful. Though the bar is pretty high these days.

The market climbed higher on Thursday as investors celebrated the first trade deal announcement from the White House. While the details of the new trade agreement with the United Kingdom are relatively vague, investors were happy to see progress on some negotiations. Our trade relationship with the UK is relatively balanced and small. The most challenging deals are still to come. Either way, itโ€™s a small amount of progress.

Across the economy, wages are still rising, gas is getting cheaper, and job cuts have slowed. However, restarted student loan collections will strain millions, trade deficits are hitting records, and borrowing costs remain high. For most households, the cost of staying afloat still feels steep.
