The economy is doing pretty well right now, but it doesn’t feel that way for many Americans. The pandemic recession and the ensuing cost of living crisis together exacerbated the growing trend of wealth and income inequality across the country. Those not in the wealthiest 10% of the country have been left further behind as the economy and stock market recovered. Now, companies face rising turmoil, strikes, and walkouts as employees demand respectable wages and security.
