Markets hit new highs on the back of President Biden's announcement of bipartisan compromise on an infrastructure bill. They'll have to figure out how to pay for it, likely some level of tax changes, and then get the final approval votes, but it's progress. Initial jobless claims decreased last week but remained well above average levels. Durable goods orders increased last month, a positive indication.

🤓 Inside Scoop...
Monthly durable goods orders are a helpful indicator of the state of the economy. Durable goods are the expensive items businesses buy that will last several years, like machinery, steel, computers, and other tools. Increasing orders of these kinds of big-ticket items mean businesses are confident and investing in their future, not cutting back expenses.
