more than economists expected. Chinese retail sales fell 11% in April as the country maintained its zero-tolerance approach to covid.
Mortgage rates continue to climb, but home purchases continue
. The Mortgage Bankers Association said 30-year fixed-rate mortgages rose above 5.3% last week, but purchase activity has increased for two consecutive weeks.
