Corporate financial updates have been mixed
, so investors haven't found something to provide a big enough boost to their confidence in the future of the economy.
China has maintained its zero-tolerance covid policy, locking down major cities in response to small outbreaks. Companies like GM have mentioned the
lockdowns as an ongoing disruption to their supply chain.
Investors are concerned about how long this could continue.
A survey from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) showed more than 68% of
small businesses plan to raise prices in the next few months
, with 40% planning to raise prices by more than 10%.
Mortgage rates continue to climb.
The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported the average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage had reached 5.37%, the highest since 2009.
