The market floated higher today amidst a volatile few weeks. Investors are hoping the Federal Reserve might stop increasing restrictions on the economy soon.

Business activity continues to slow.

S&P Global said on Monday that its measure of business output is retreating at the fastest pace since the financial crisis, excluding the pandemic.

Most economists think we're heading for a recession, if not already in one,

based on a National Association for Business Economics survey of 55 business economists.

Corporate financial updates have been solid.

We're about 20% of the way through S&P 500 earnings reports, heading into the biggest two weeks of disclosure now. So far, over 70% of companies have reported stronger profits than investors expected.
