Markets pulled back a bit today after a positive day Friday. Investors can't seem to make up their minds about inflation, pushing the market to record highs Friday after the Labor Dept reported inflation is at the highest level in nearly 40 years. Consumer goods have gotten 6.8% more expensive over the last twelve months, higher than economists predicted. While we're at much higher levels than last year, the month-over-month price increases have slowed from October and September. The Federal Reserve meets this week to discuss their next move. Investors are expecting them to roll back the stimulus measures more quickly now.

🤓 Inside Scoop...
The Federal Reserve, aka the Central Bank, controls the flow of money. When the economy needs juice, it creates more money and lowers interest rates to incentivize more lending and spending. When inflation gets too high, that means there's too much lending and spending for the given available resources. The Fed then raises interest rates and starts to shut down all the supportive stimulus measures. It's a natural part of the economic cycle, but no one wants to be at the end of the good times.
