Weekly initial unemployment claims continued falling to a pandemic low last week, indicating fewer layoffs. The labor market keeps improving, and consumers keep buying, so investors start wondering when that will end. The main concern is whether the pandemic-driven supply chain disruptions driving higher costs and higher prices will resolve themselves before consumers lose interest in paying the higher prices.

Electric vehicles can be emission-free if the electricity comes from renewable sources. But it's not easy to make the batteries. A key resource is lithium, which, given its lightweight, low cost, and reactive properties, is highly effective in rechargeable batteries. Mining for lithium can produce high amounts of emissions and toxins. So to make sure the production of electric vehicles is as clean as possible, companies are investing in greenfield lithium projects to produce high-quality materials and avoid encountering large amounts of toxic materials like some of the existing mining locations.
